Black & White - Tony Baldasaro Photography

Ol' Fish Shacks.

Like so many others in New England, I am tired of the wet and gloomy spring we have had thus far in 2016. The constant overcast has resulted in no sunrises or sunsets to speak of, which is what I love to do. However, tired of waiting for mother nature to cooperate, I took avantage of the overcast skies to do some black and white work. These fish shacks are a well known staple on the New Hampshire coast and bring us back to a different time. Perhaps the choice to shoot these on an overcast die with black and white processing in mind is a reminder of the storied past that these old fish shacks have. Fun fact: in 1960 the town voted to preserve the fish house area as a public park and in 1965 it was named after Ruth G. Stimson, the town's leading conservationist at the time.
